It’s been three weeks since we officially released Baselight AI, and one week since we released Baselight Bases. We couldn’t be happier with the results, but this is just the beginning. These two features bring Baselight to another level, one in which it can start delivering the promise and solving the problems that we set ourselves to fix when we started.
Mainly:
- Data fragmentation and gatekeeping.
- The high barriers for users and non-technical teams to run sophisticated analysis.
- Speeding up any data-intensive task without requiring dedicated infrastructure or data curation.
Funnily, as we were making progress towards our vision, AI agents and LLMs entered the scene, and we realised that Baselight was solving an additional problem: AI agents reliability, transparency, and resiliency.
As AI agents are being more widely adopted, we are starting to see how they make visible mistakes and hallucinate. Teams and individuals need systems where outputs are verifiable, traceable, and grounded in high-quality data. By providing agents with structured data at inference time, we can verify the provenance of the data, and clearly audit the specific data and sources used in the chain of thought of the agent.
Baselight is already solving these problems for some users of the platform, but we want more! We want to scale this to every individual and team that works with data on their day-to-day. If this is your case, we are running product walkthroughs, design sessions, and kicking-off pilots with teams to take Baselight to the next level.
And if you’ve tried Baselight and it hasn’t delivered, we want to know why and fix it! Are you missing a specific dataset in the platform or we don’t have the kind of data that you need? That’s easy! Is the problem that you need to cross-reference Baselight’s public catalog with your own data warehouse? We can also solve that. You love Baselight dashboards and Baselight AI, but you want to host them on your infrastructure or embedded on your product? Dashboards are already embeddable, so let’s do it.
To give you an example of how we can help,we recently got feedback from users complaining about the lack of historical stock prices or any statistics from China, and one week since the request we already have these brand new Yahoo Finance and People’s Bank of China datasets in the platform.

So if you work with data on your day to day, you are already seeing value in Baselight, or you are missing something that we are not aware of, please reply to this email. We would love to talk! See you in two weeks!
